A Walk To The River (picturing the tao of the river)

While visiting Sacramento this month, one of my favorite things to do was to walk my dad’s border collie, Zoie, down to the American River. She sniffs practically every blade of grass along the way – she’s very busy with that. Zoie was once a sheepherder on one of the nearby Sacramento ranches, and she still tries to herd other dogs, squirrels and geese! And she’s very good at it, so we have to keep her on a leash. The other amazing thing about Zoie is her British visa; she has one because of an English dog-show in which she once participated. So, Zoie has quite a resume, but now she just lives a life of luxury in a tree-sequestered, quiet suburb with my dad and his girlfriend.
